Stop the Washington State Medical Board's Persecution of Dr. Wright!

The Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission (MQAC) is blaming Dr. Jonathan Wright for a mistake that was actually made by the Commission. Dr. Wright’s clinic hired an MD whose Washington State license, according to the MQAC website, was “pending,” which allowed him to practice under close supervision according to the law.

Unbeknownst to Dr. Wright, MQAC knew that the doctor’s license had been suspended in another state, but MQAC never posted that information on its website, just that his Washington license was pending, which was false. Now MQAC is blaming Dr. Wright for this, claiming that the MD’s hiring somehow endangered the health and safety of the citizens of Washington, even though no one was harmed and no complaints were filed.

Now we are awaiting the results of last month’s MQAC hearing, and Dr. Wright’s license is at stake. Please contact your governor and your legislators about MQAC blaming—and threatening Dr. Wright with penalties—for a problem MQAC itself created!

I'm writing to bring to your attention a serious miscarriage of justice. The Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission (MQAC) is blaming renowned physician Jonathan Wright, MD, for a mistake that was actually made by the Commission.

Now we are awaiting the results of last month's MQAC hearing, and Dr. Wright's license is at stake. This is just the latest attack in a decades-long pattern of harassment of him and other integrative physicians in the state.

Integrative medicine includes diet, supplements, and lifestyle changes along with conventional drugs and surgery. It is a science-based approach that makes sense. It is the future of medicine. Dr Wright is one of the leading practitioners, with a global reputation. One would think that Washington State would be welcoming to an approach utilizing food and supplements and also welcoming to such a respected medical innovator. The Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission is bringing a black eye to the state by its decades long vendetta against Dr. Wright and other integrative practitioners.

Matter of fact MQAC was so aggressive and biased against Integrative medical practitioners that the Washington State legislature enacting legislation preventing MQAC from targeting medical practitioners simply because of the type of medical they practice. MQAC is now either ignoring the law or finding ways around it.

Please put the people of Washington State and our right to choose our medical practitioner first. I ask that you conduct an investigating and hearings into the biased and unjust Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission.
