Support HR 4475, the Compassionate Freedom of Choice Act!

FDA currently allows the use, on a case-by-case basis, of an investigational drug outside of a clinical trial to treat a patient with a serious or immediately life-threatening disease or condition who has no comparable or satisfactory alternative treatment options. However, FDA often denies this access.

HR 4475, the Compassionate Freedom of Choice Act of 2014, has been officially introduced by Rep. Morgan Griffith. The bill eliminates the requirement for an FDA okay, and streamlines physician and patient access to experimental drugs. It would ensure that dying patients and their families—who don’t have the time or the strength to do so—won’t have to wage fruitless bureaucratic wars.

The bill is currently in the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Please ask your representative to support HR 4475!
