Tell USDA We Won't Stand for GMO Herbicide-Resistant Soybeans!

Syngenta Seeds, Inc., and Bayer CropScience AG, have petitioned APHIS, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the USDA, to freely use and distribute soybean

genetically engineered for tolerance to the herbicides glufosinate and mesotrione. They are asking for public comments to help them identify potential environmental and interrelated economic issues and impacts.

Genetic material inserted into GE soy transfers into the DNA of bacteria living inside our intestines and continues to function. Even after we stop eating GE foods, we may still have the GE proteins produced continuously inside us.

Tell the USDA that the soybeans must not be freely distributed—that without strict controls, GE crops will encroach on non-GE crops, contaminating them, including organic crops—which will, of course, render them non-organic.
