Tell the USDA and President Obama that Spraying More Chemicals on Poultry is NOT the Answer!

The Administration is proposing the implementation of “new methods in poultry inspection” to compensate for the reduced number of inspectors.

This overhaul would speed up poultry inspection lines, reduce the number of federal inspectors by 40%, and allow the increased use of extremely toxic and dangerous chemicals whether chickens are contaminated or not. Federal poultry inspectors are getting extremely sick—and even dying—from the chemicals used, and now workers will be exposed to larger amounts of “sanitizing” chemicals than ever before.

Ask President Obama and Secretary Vilsack not to finalize these new “modernized” and “streamlined” regulations! The rules should instead emphasize the need for slower line speeds, cleaner facilities, more inspections, and better-trained employees.
