Tell Congress to Oppose the DARK Act!

The “Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act of 2015” (called the DARK Act, for “Deny Americans’ Right to Know”) is set to get a full floor vote in the House TODAY.

This bill would pre-empt state-level, mandatory labeling laws for genetically modified organisms (GMOs) with a wholly voluntary federal standard. Companies could elect to apply to the USDA for a “GMO-free” label, and then the FDA would review the product -- or they could elect not to label their products at all, leaving consumers in the dark about what’s in their food.

If this bill passes the House, the Senate will take it up next, where another completely voluntary labeling bill is waiting in the wings. Please contact your legislators immediately and tell them to vote NO on this bill!
