Appeal of the month

Sister Nabila and her six fellow nuns, and a parish priest, continue to look after 512 Christians – including 120 children and 84 faithful over the age of 65.

All while intense military conflicts and shelling is occurring in the area surrounding the church, and a critical shortage of food and clean water is affecting the region.

A source that wishes to remain anonymous told us, “Children are suffering from a virus that causes nausea and diarrhea – and some of the elderly are facing serious illnesses that require immediate hospitalization. This is impossible at the moment.”

Out of approximately 1,000 Christians remaining in Gaza, 30 have lost their lives due to the conflict – 19 have been killed by military action and 11 have died due to a lack of medical care.

Your gift today ensures that our religious will not run out of supplies, basic supplies, like food, water and medicine.

Christians in Holy Land live essence of Holy Week

"Good Friday has a very strong meaning because you see the suffering. We see the cross. Once we had a 24-hour prayer vigil in our church, and we prayed all the Psalms. We called the celebration ‘the Church under the cross.’ This is our place as Christians. We are the Church under the cross."
