The reputation and integrity of the Supreme Court is at risk.

Some justices seem willing to ignore basic ethics rules that govern the federal judiciary.

This behavior would be deemed inappropriate under the Code of Conduct for United States Judges – but the Code applies to all federal judges except the justices of the Supreme Court.

The justices of the Supreme Court should not be exempt from the rules that govern all other federal judges. Act now to preserve the independence and integrity of our nation’s highest court!

Legal experts have already called upon the Court to voluntarily take this vital step in reforming its ethics practices. They've been joined by thousands of everyday Americans and several prominent members of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Now add your voice!

Send a message to Chief Justice John Roberts asking that the Court formally and publicly adopt the Code of Conduct for United States Judges.

Adopt the Code of Conduct for U.S. Judges

To  Chief Justice John Roberts

We write to urge the Supreme Court to adopt the Code of Conduct for United States Judges. The Code currently applies to all federal judges except Supreme Court justices.

The Code of Conduct serves to ensure that judges act in a way that protects public confidence in the independence of the judiciary. The boundaries set forth in the Code should apply equally to members of our nation's highest court. It is critical to our democracy that Supreme Court justices act in a way that assures the public its decisions are issued impartially and free from the constraints of politics and outside influence.

The Court should take it upon itself to agree to be bound formally and officially by the Code, and should do so publicly. The integrity of our judicial system is at stake.

Sincerely,
