BC Encounters Team

Welcome to the official BC Encounters team page made up of BUI secondary teachers, students, families, and supporters!

What is the World Partnership Walk, you ask?

An initiative of Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC), World Partnership Walk is Canada’s largest movement dedicated to raising funds and increasing awareness to fight global poverty.

More than 700 million people live in extreme poverty (on less than $2.15 USD a day). We are fundraising to support programs that empower millions of people in Africa and Asia to lift themselves out of poverty through access to quality education, life-saving health services, food security, and improved livelihoods.

How can you participate in this campaign, you ask?

Good news, there are so many ways to get involved! Here are a few of them... (and if you have more ideas, please do share them with us)

1. Join our team

2. Make a donation

3. Spread the word

4. Hold your own fundraiser

5. Attend on Walk Day (June 2 at Stanley Park in Vancouver, or participate in a city near you)

Thank you for your support :)
