Tell Congress: Defend FDA's Commonsense Tobacco Rule

Thanks to you and thousands of other Americans who want to protect our nation from the dangers of tobacco products, on May 5th, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued its "deeming" rule, which at long last gives FDA authority over all tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, cigars and hookah.

Unfortunately, the tobacco industry is already at work trying to weaken and block these commonsense protections. We need your help to protect this new rule from a sustained attack from the tobacco industry and its friends in Congress.

Please send a message to your members of Congress in support of FDA's rule, which puts in place commonsense protections over all tobacco products including enforcing no sales of tobacco products to teens and also prohibiting tobacco companies from giving out free samples.

The bottom line: this new rule allows FDA to make science-based decisions to protect our children and the health of Americans from all tobacco products.

There is no time to lose: with one in four over 25 percent of high school students using at least one tobacco product, commonsense FDA rules for all tobacco products are needed now more than ever.
