Tell EPA: Don't Take Away Protections from Oil and Gas Pollution

EPA has proposed to roll back protections from dangerous emissions from the oil and gas industry. We need you to speak up in opposition.

Oil and gas wells spew harmful pollutants called Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), which form dangerous ozone pollution that puts kids, people with asthma, and others at risk. Some VOCs can cause cancer. That’s why there are oil and gas air pollution cleanup standards called Control Techniques Guidelines in place. These guidelines give states and communities a toolkit of ways to reduce emissions in polluted areas.

But now EPA is proposing to repeal these oil and gas air pollution standards, which would result in as much as 64,000 tons of additional harmful VOC pollution every year. Plus, it would mean more methane pollution, which contributes to climate change.

We need your help. Tell EPA not to repeal these important clean air protections.
