Support TNR in Hillsborough FLUPDATE: You did it! Last week we asked you to urge your commissioners to support a pilot program that would save 4,000 cats’ lives—and they listened! Today, Hillsborough County Commissioners endorsed the two-year Community Cat Pilot Program with a 6-1 vote. Thank you for reaching out to your commissioners!

The program will redirect 2,000 feral (community) cats each year from the county shelter, where they almost certainly would be killed, to Trap-Neuter-Return programs, allowing them to live out their lives in their outdoor home. The commissioners did not expand the program to include all feral cats like we hoped they would, but this is still a huge step forward for the county.

We will keep you updated on the program as it is implemented. Thank you again for speaking out in support of this important program for cats!

Original Issue: This action alert is ONLY for residents of Hillsborough County, Florida.

The two-year Community Cat Pilot Program would save 4,000 feral cats from being killed in the Hillsborough County shelter by implementing a Trap-Neuter-Return program.

Commissioners will consider the program on May 1—and Hillsborough’s cats need you to support it! Urge the commissioners to support the Community Cat Pilot Program and to take it a step further by implementing TNR for all healthy feral cats.

This message will be sent to Hillsborough County Commissioners.
