Support our clients during the COVID-19 crisis
Each week, more than 1,200 Coloradans with life-threatening health conditions rely on Project Angel Heart meals to help them heal, maintain energy, avoid infections, and stay positive while undergoing treatment. It’s critical that those meals continue to arrive at their homes, so in response to the COVID-19 situation in Colorado, we are taking steps to protect the health of everyone associated with our program, especially our clients.
Our kitchen is preparing and freezing extra meals in case a shortage of volunteers or staff limits our capacity. Earlier in our state's lockdown, we delivered a supply of shelf-stable emergency meals to clients to support their nutrition needs during the crisis, and we are prepared to do so again, if necessary.
Additionally, the virus has limited the size of our volunteer workforce, putting additional strain on our small staff and the volunteers who have been able to safely carry on with their volunteer duties.
The cost of responding to this health crisis has been and will continue to be high. And we'll need your help to get through it.
Your gift will help us continue providing meals that nourish the bodies—and the hearts—of neighbors who are already among the most vulnerable, due to pre-existing health conditions.
