Frequently Asked Questions
Pie Seller Questions
What do I have to do to sell pies?
It's easy! Just click the "Sell Pies" option in the menu above to sign up as an individual pie seller or start a pie-selling team. Then get the word out to friends, co-workers, and family. You can post a personal message on your pie webpage, print out flyers and marketing materials, send reminder emails, and link to Facebook and Twitter, all from your Pie Headquarters. Get there by logging in and clicking on the Pie Headquarters button in the top right corner of this page.
What is the minimum number of pies I can set as my sales goal?
There's no minimum, since EVERY pie sold helps us achieve our mission of delivering nutritious meals, at no cost, for those coping with life-threatening illness. In fact, because 100 percent of the net proceeds benefit Project Angel Heart, every pie purchased allows us to provide more than three medically tailored meals for someone in need! However, we encourage you to set a goal to sell at least ten pies. Selling ten pies will allow us to feed a client for an entire month... and you'll earn an official Pie in the Sky t-shirt! You can update your goal on your personal pie seller page.
Do I get anything for selling pies?
- Sell 2 pies: free pizza gift card from Anthony's Pizza & Pasta
- Sell 10 pies: free pizza plus official Pie in the Sky t-shirt
- Sell 20 pies: free pizza and t-shirt, plus Pie in the Sky mug
- Sell 40+ pies: free pizza, t-shirt, and mug, plus one fun additional item (details coming soon!)
Can I join an existing team if I've already registered as an individual pie seller?
Yes. To join an existing team, log into your Pie Headquarters. On the right side of your screen, you'll see a list of actions you can take. Click on "Change Team Membership" at the end of the list and search for the team you wish to join.
Can I send emails about Pie in the Sky through my regular email account?
Yes, you can. However, there are benefits to using the email system in your Pie Headquarters. Our system allows you to track responses to your emails, and the "group" feature allows you to send group emails to current pie buyers or donors, past pie buyers or donors, or people who have not yet supported Pie in the Sky. You can easily import email addresses from other email systems.
I love the pre-written emails, but can I customize them to sound more like me?
Of course. We encourage this! Use as little or as much of the pre-written text as you like. The people you email are more likely to respond to a message that sounds like it's from you.
Ordering Pies
What flavors do the pies come in and who bakes them?
Delicious apple, cherry, pecan, and pumpkin pies, all freshly baked by Bluepoint Bakery and Johnson & Wales University , are available for $30 each.
Will you deliver my pies to me?
Pies will be available for pickup at 20+ locations in the Denver metro area, Colorado Springs, and Boulder on Tuesday, November 26, ONLY. Click here for a full list of pickup locations and times.
When is the last day I can order pies?
November 21, 2019, is the final day to order pies online.
Rather than buy a pie, I want to make a gift to Project Angel Heart. Can I do this online?
You can! Click on the Donate button at the top of the page. Each donation of $30 will provide more than three medically tailored meals to a Coloradan fighting a life-threatening illness.
Is it possible to have my pies sent out of town?
Because the pies are freshly baked and delivered to pickup locations by volunteers, pies are available only at the specified pickup locations in and around the Denver metro area, Colorado Springs, and Boulder. If you're unable to pick up pies at one of the specified locations, consider making a donation to help us provide meals for people who need them to improve their health and quality of life.
Are pie purchases tax-deductible?
Yes! Of each pie purchased, $25 is tax-deductible.
If I can't make it to a pickup location, what should I do?
If you can't pick up your pies from your selected pickup location on November 26, you may have a friend pick them up. You may also be able to pick up pies at Project Angel Heart's Denver office on November 27. Please email us at pieinthesky@projectangelheart.org to make arrangements. Any pies not picked up by noon on November 27 will be donated to feed the homeless and hungry.
Do you sell pies for those with special dietary needs (kosher, vegan, gluten-free)?
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide specialized pies at this time.
Can I buy a pie and donate it to a Project Angel Heart client?
No, but you can make a donation to help us provide nutritious meals (including a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with pie!) to all of our clients during the week of Thanksgiving.

uestion: Can I send emails through my regular email account?
Answer: Yes, you can. However, there are benefits to using the email system in your Participant Center. First, our system allows you to see if contacts opened your email and/or visited your pie page. Second, the "group" feature allows you to send email only to people who bought pie or donated, or only to those who have NOT. Lastly, it will store all of that info, including a list of who purchased/donated, for next year's Pie in the Sky event.
Question: Can I customize the emails to sound more like me?
Answer: Of course. We encourage this! Use as little or as much of the pre-written text as you like. The people you email are more likely to respond to a message that sounds like it's from you.
