When Congress convenes on January 3, 2017, House and Senate Republicans have vowed to immediately begin work on legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act. The Prevention and Public Health Fund is likely to be repealed as part of the larger effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act. The Prevention and Public Health Fund is a mandatory funding stream that is providing critical resources to our state and local health departments to keep our communities healthy and safe from infectious disease, lead poisoning, tobacco-related diseases and much more. Send a message to your members of Congress asking them to support the Prevention and Public Health Fund and oppose any attempt to repeal or use the fund for unintended purposes.
If you take action and have not already registered, you will receive periodic updates and communications from American Public Health Association.
