Welcome!

My sister Sarah and I have formed a team this year to bring awareness to Autism! Please join or support us (or both!) as we take part in the Crystal Coast Run/Walk for Autism. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
Sarah's story:
"My son, Jacob, was diagnosed with Autism at the age of three years old. He has faced many different challenges since his diagnosis. At the age of 2 we noticed certain characteristics that led us to believe we needed to pursue a formal physician evaluation. He has struggled with social interaction, communication, and has many sensory issues. It has been both a hard and rewarding journey all at the same time! He teaches us lessons daily and we continually learn something new. He is five now and it is amazing to see the growth he has made since diagnosis. He attends an elementary school where both the teachers and children welcome him with open arms and do not see him as his disability, but for all the abilities and blessings he brings to the classroom daily. We cannot wait to see the miracles God will perform in him and through him in the years to come.

The Autism Society of North Carolina is the leading statewide resource organization serving people across the autism spectrum throughout their lifespans.
We understand the challenges of the autism community because we work with individuals on the autism spectrum and their families every day. We offer advocacy, training and education, and direct care that helps individuals with autism to, increase their social and communication skills, develop independent-living skills, succeed in school or on the job, participate in community activities, and advocate for themselves.
We have a statewide network of resources, connecting individuals with autism and their families to life-changing programs and supports unavailable anywhere else.
