Raising funds for the Coastal Run/Walk 2025 for the Autism Society of North Carolina (ASNC) is not just about supporting a cause, it’s deeply personal for families navigating the world of autism. Our family has been walking this journey with our child, Trenton, who has recently been diagnosed with autism this year.
We began to notice signs that something was different. There were challenges with communication, social interactions, and sensory sensitivities. After countless doctor visits and assessments, the diagnosis of autism was made, bringing both clarity and a new set of questions. How can we support our child through this? What resources are available to him? And, perhaps most importantly, how can we raise awareness and give back to the organizations helping others with autism?
One of the most meaningful ways to help this upcoming year will be through participating in our first event the Coastal Run/Walk for Autism, a charity event benefiting the Autism Society of North Carolina. This event serves as both a fundraiser and an awareness campaign, bringing together families, caregivers, and community members who understand the challenges faced by those with autism.
Each day, roughly 10 North Carolina families have a child diagnosed with a form of autism. Each family affected by autism has different challenges and times of joy.
Proceeds from the Coastal NC Run Walk for Autism will fund local programs of the Autism Society of North Carolina (ASNC), which serves the over 95,000 families affected by autism in our state.
