2024 Triangle Run/Walk for Autism

The Big Dills

Thank you for supporting The Big Dills, captained by our dino-loving Charlie! We will be participating in the 1 mile Fun Run/Walk on October 12 and would love to have you on our team. If you can’t make it, any donation is greatly appreciated.

To learn more about Charlie’s story and why we walk, please read below:

Charlie was diagnosed with autism the week after he turned 3. We are beyond proud of his incredible brain, but the world is not always kind to those who are different.

Hundreds of hours of speech, occupational, and ABA therapy have allowed Charlie to succeed in a society that isn’t designed for the neurodiverse. He works hard every day to overcome the stereotypes that go along with an ASD diagnosis, all while continuing to be his authentic self.

Charlie has been fortunate to receive early intervention services that have positively and significantly impacted his life. The Big Dills raises money for the Autism Society of North Carolina so that other individuals with ASD can have access to the same life-changing resources and support.

The Autism Society of North Carolina is the leading statewide resource organization serving people across the autism spectrum throughout their lifespans.

We understand the challenges of the autism community because we work with individuals on the autism spectrum and their families every day. We offer advocacy, training and education, and direct care that helps individuals with autism to, increase their social and communication skills, develop independent-living skills, succeed in school or on the job, participate in community activities, and advocate for themselves.

We have a statewide network of resources, connecting individuals with autism and their families to life-changing programs and supports unavailable anywhere else.
