Ensure you wear proper and well-fitted footwear and socks to avoid blisters and other injuries. Also, it’s advisable to wear performance apparel and avoid wearing items made from cotton and other non-wicking materials for maximum comfort. Remember to dress in layers. It’s always better to add or take off items, than not have the option at all.

What should I bring with me?

Water is available to participants, but feel free to bring your own water bottle. Don’t forget to bring items like tissues, fruit or power bars that you may need throughout your hike. Please remember to be respectful of the environment and have a means to carry your garbage until you can dispose of it.

Do I have to complete the entire Grouse Grind® route?

We encourage you to hike the entire trail as turning around can cause issues for those going up. With that said, if you are unable to continue please inform attendants along the trail and they will assist with getting you down the trail safely.

Can I switch to the Summit Stroll on event day?

Absolutely. Simply go to the Event Day registration tent and let us know that you want to switch routes. We will be able to switch you over to the Summit Stroll.
