Ten years ago, Ariela Friedmann, Lori Last, Lorena Townsend and Sandy Turner came together as members of the 2007 Ascent for Alzheimer's team. Each one of us had our own reasons for climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and raising money for this devastating disease. Climbing that mountain was one of the biggest challenges each of us had ever faced and touching the sign at Uhuru Peak changed our lives forever.

Now, ten years later, we want to do something to commemorate that original trip. We will raise $10,000 as a team to support the Alzheimer Society of BC. And we will climb a 10,000 foot mountain (Mt. Teide in the Canary Islands, to be exact). Joining us in our efforts is 2015 Ascent for Alzheimer's alumni, Lorne Davidson. 

Our main activity to support our fundraising has been a community garage sale in East Vancouver May 27 & 28, 2017 but individual team members will also be taking on their own activities.

Craft Beer Raffle a Complete Success!

We would like to give a giant shout-out to the 23 local craft breweries whose generousity and support made the Craft Beer Raffle for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. a complete success. We printed 400 tickets and sold every one of them - raising $2,000 to help support those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia.
