Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I'm raising money in support of the Alzheimer Society of B.C.
On Friday September 10th at 5pm, I will be “attempting?” to complete the Finlayson Arm 100km Ultra-Trail Race. If I make it to the end it will take me 22 to 24hours. I’m questioning my sanity.
That said, running is what I love to do, it recharges me physically and mentally. But it's more than that, it’s part of who I am, part of my 'identity'.
My Dad (Dick) was a very silly man… a natural athlete, he was a footballer, golfer, fisherman, loved to be outside especially in his garden.
My mother in-law (Karen) was the social butterfly, always giving of herself, always~always laughing and bringing joy, her door was always open and coffee and scones were only minutes from ready.
We lost my Dad in 2014 to this disease and Karen was stolen from us in May.
Watching a loved ones identity disappear in front of you is tragic.
If you can spare your coffee money today, and make a pledge, you will be helping to transform the lives of individuals and families living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias.
By supporting the work of the Alzheimer Society of B.C., you are ensuring there is a province-wide organization dedicated to providing services and programs to help families faced with dementia have the confidence and skills to maintain quality of life, to supporting the search for the cure.
Thank you for your help.
