Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a project of Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (formerly the Breast Cancer Fund), and our sister campaign Mind the Store have been asking Walgreens to get chemicals that are linked to cancer, endocrine disruption, and reproductive harm out of their products for two years, and they finally responded! In December 2014, Walgreens announced that they would create a new chemicals policy this Spring (2015), and the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics needs your help to make sure that this new policy is comprehensive, transparent, and protective of customer health. In the current absence of effective federal regulation, it is even more important that retailers ensure the consumer products they carry are truly safe. Walgreens has the power—and the moral responsibility—to ensure that all of the products it sells do not contain dangerous chemicals harmful to our health.
