Welcome to My Personal Page
I am thrilled to be participating in the BC Lung Foundation's 40th annual fundraiser, the Ride for Lung Health. This will be my 6th year riding with the Langley Lung Nuts!
The Ride for Lung Health is an incredible opportunity for us to come together as a community to make a difference. By supporting my fundraising efforts, you are helping to advance important initiatives that will improve the lives of those affected by lung disease in British Columbia.
The BC Lung Foundation provides support to individuals with lung conditions, and even provide resources to help people who are trying to quit smoking. They also work on air quality, including radon, pollution, and wildfires. This past year they partnered on a wonderful project with the family of Carter Vigh, a young boy who died from complications of asthma after participating in an outdoor camp during forest fire season... his "local" air quality report was from 100 km away. Carter's Project provides air quality monitors to communities around BC so that families can access up-to-date air quality readings.
This year I will be riding with the memories of my Aunty Helen, who supported me in life and in this ride, but who recently lost her battle with lung cancer.
