Ride Guide

Welcome to The Ride, an event organized by the BC Lung Foundation to raise funds and awareness for lung health research, patient programs and education, and advocacy.

We're excited to have you on board, and can't wait for you to experience this unforgettable ride.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, please take note of the following ride guide:

  1. Safety first - Always wear a helmet when riding your bike, and ensure that it’s properly fitted and adjusted. Also, make sure your bike is in good working condition, with brakes and tires checked before the ride.

  2.  Follow traffic rules - Please obey all traffic signals and stop signs, and ride on the right-hand side of the road. Use hand signals to indicate turns and lane changes and always be aware of your surroundings.

  3. Stay hydrated - Bring enough water to stay hydrated throughout the ride, and make use of the rest stops to refill your water bottle.

  4. Dress appropriately - Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that is suitable for the weather conditions, and bring layers for cooler weather. Don't forget sunscreen and sunglasses.

  5.  Pace yourself - The Ride is a fun ride, not a race. Please ride at a comfortable pace and don't push yourself beyond your limits. If you need to take a break, do so at the rest stops.

  6.  Stay together - If you’re riding with a group, please stay together BUT ride in a single file.

  7. Be visible - Use lights and reflective gear if you’ are riding in low light conditions.

  8. Respect others - please be courteous to other riders, pedestrians, and drivers on the road.

  9. Fundraising - As a participant, you’re encouraged to fundraise for the BC Lung Foundation. Please ensure that you have met the minimum fundraising requirements

We hope you have a fantastic ride and enjoy the beautiful scenery, as you cycle through Tsawwassen, Ladner, Delta, Surrey, and White Rock.

Thank you for supporting lung health, and making a difference in the lives of Canadians.
