Californians: Let's Reform Trapping, Swap Meet Laws
Two California state bills championed by Born Free USA sailed through their first committee hearings in early April 2013 and are headed for the Assembly floor. Now your help is needed to move them through the next step.
AB 789, introduced by Assemblyman Das Williams (D-Santa Barbara), would outlaw the most inhumane methods of killing trapped wildlife and decrease the chances of family dogs and cats being inadvertently killed in Conibear kill traps. Read more about AB 789 here.
AB 339, introduced by Assemblyman Roger Dickinson (D-Sacramento), would prohibit the sale of live animals at flea markets and swap meets. Read more about AB 339 here.
Please contact your Assembly member today in support of AB 789 (trapping) and AB 339 (swap meets). E-mails are fine (please feel free to personalize our suggested letter), and respectful phone calls pack even more punch. Find your legislator's contact information here.
