Dr. Kjelsberg joined The Mount in 2002 as an interventional cardiologist and the Associate Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and in 2015, he was appointed Chief of the Division of Cardiology. Throughout his tenure, Dr. Kjelsberg advanced the hospital’s offerings of cardiovascular care for our patients and served as an exceptional teacher to our providers, residents, and medical students. Dr. Kjelsberg passed away on August 21, 2022.
In recognition of his contributions to the hospital and the field of Cardiology, Mount Auburn Hospital is pleased to establish The Michael A. Kjelsberg, MD Memorial Award for Clinical and Teaching Excellence in Cardiovascular Disease (“The Mikey”) and The Annual Michael A. Kjelsberg, MD Memorial Lecture in Cardiovascular Disease.
We invite you to join us in honoring Dr. Kjelsberg’s lifelong commitment to his patients, passion for the field of medicine, and dedication to The Mount by making a gift to support this memorial award and lecture.
