Reading is core to a child’s ability to succeed in school. Unfortunately, for many children in the Philadelphia area, books are an unaffordable luxury. Without books these children are at risk of falling behind in the classroom, the workforce and beyond.
Make a donation and join TESOL and First Book in bringing new, high-quality books to children in need throughout Philadelphia. In conjunction with TESOL’s 2012 International Convention & English Expo 28-31 March in Philadelphia, all funds raised will go to the purchase of new books for children in the Philadelphia area. Donate today - a contribution of just $10 will put 4 new books into the hands of children in need.
With 1 in 3 children in Philadelphia living at or below the poverty line, Philadelphia has one of the highest child poverty rates in the country. Let’s work together to help open doors to bright futures for the children who need it most.
