Government, Global Poverty and God’s Mission in the
An Evangelical Declaration
Government, Global Poverty and God's Mission in the World emerged from a two-day consultation sponsored by Bread for the World Institute, Micah Challenge, and the Center for Applied Christian Ethics at Wheaton College in 2010.
The purpose of the consultation was to strengthen the church’s understanding of how Christians should approach, inform, and develop their positions on U.S. foreign assistance policy.
The declaration expresses many shared convictions about the proper role of government in empowering those who live in poverty. It also invites evangelicals and others to reflect and act on the issues addressed in the booklet.
