Donate now to support CARE's life-saving emergency response in Nepal.
A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal on April 25 in an area between the Nepalese capital Kathmandu and the city of Pokhara. There are reports of significant numbers of injuries and fatalities, with buildings and monuments reported collapsed throughout the capital Kathmandu.
Nepal was struck by a second major earthquake of 7.3 magnitude and a series of strong aftershocks on May 12. Just as Nepal was beginning its long journey to recovery, more devastation ensues. The most immediate needs during this critical time are shelter, medical support, food, and clean water. CARE’s initial response aims to reach 100,000 people with life-saving aid such as emergency shelter and clean water.
Every eligible donation made by individual Canadians before May 25, 2015 will be matched by the Government of Canada.
