Indonesian Earthquake and Tsunami
On December 22nd a tsunami, combined with high tides, hit the Sunda Straits in Indonesia. This is the third natural disaster to hit Indonesia in the last six months. More than 200 people have been killed and over 800 injured. This latest earthquake comes just three months after a 7.5 magnitude earthquake and tsunami devastated the island of Sulawesi, killing over 2,000 people.
CARE's team is now busy preparing hygiene kits for some of those worst affected. CARE is also sending a team of emergency experts to the area and will do an assessment of the damage. Give now to help those who have lost everything.
CARE will be in Indonesia for the long term and will support the longer-term recovery efforts for earthquake survivors. Donate now.
