Welcome to Lynn Green's Personal Page!
Welcome to my Walk In Her Shoes 2020 page!
In this sixth year of involvement with the Vancouver Council for CARE Canada, I continue to chair the Youth CAREs Committee which fosters youth engagement in understanding and supporting women's and girls' enpowerment in developing countries. We are very pleased by the ever increasing numbers of youth and educators from Vancouver's Lower Mainland schools who are participating in activities related to the Walk in Her Shoes challenge. I'm really looking forward to seeing many educators, youth and their families volunteer at the event, and participate in the Walk!
CARE's Walk In Her Shoes challenges us to walk 10,000 steps, the distance many women and girls in developing countries walk every day to collect what they need to survive -- like water, food, and firewood. We can change this.
On March 8, 2020 I will be joining my husband and friends on the In Solidarity Team in walking 10,000 steps to raise funds to break the cycle of poverty experienced by women and their families in developing countries. . All funds raised will support efforts to fight malnutrition in Malawi through CARE's Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies project. For every dollar we raise, the Government of Canada will provide $10 for this deserving initiative.
Please join me as a supporter and, if you can, as a walker. It is a perfect way to celebrate International Women's Day!
Thank you so much for your interest and support.
