Choose your Run location from our homepage drop down menu or by selecting “Find your Run” in the top navigation. Once you have selected your Run location, click on the Register button. From here you will be able to select either the ‘Join a Team’ or “Restart your Team’ option to join an existing team or you can restart a team from last year that you were a member of. Another option is to contact the team captain who can register you on the team.

How do I make sure my team is eligible to receive team t-shirts?

Details regarding team t-shirt eligibility criteria can be found here. Your Run site Team Coordinator can provide you with the specific details concerning team t-shirt deadlines. Their contact information is available on your Run site page.

Do I need to have 10 members to form a team?

No. You can have as many or as few members as you would like to form a team. However, teams with fewer than 10 members will not receive t-shirts with your team’s name on the back. Instead they will receive regular event t-shirts.

Can I register my team the day of the event?

Yes! Teams can register anytime including on the day of the CIBC Run for the Cure. However, in order to receive team t-shirts, you will need to register your team of 10 or more by Thursday, September 13, 2018 to allow the Canadian Cancer Society enough time to print your team’s name on the back of the t-shirts.

Teams who register after September 13, 2018 will receive the regular event t-shirts.

What if I register my team, but some of the team members register offline, are we still eligible for team t-shirts?

What is a multi-site team?

Multi-site teams are teams that are registered in two (2) or more locations. Multi-site teams must also register in one of the five categories (Corporate, Friends and Family, School, Women’s, or Post-Secondary Challenge).

All multi-site teams are eligible for team t-shirts if they meet all of the criteria below:

  • Local teams must consist of least 10 (ten) members

Individual team members must have met one of the requirements of participation:

  • Made a minimum personal donation of $40
  • Fundraised a minimum of $150 towards their personal fundraising goal

If I make a donation to my team, will I receive a tax receipt?

Yes, any contribution made to the CIBC Run for the Cure is tax receiptable.

What happens if my donor incorrectly donates to my team?

If a donor mistakenly donates to your team and would like to transfer the donation to an individual participant, the donor must contact our Donor Services department by September 30, 2018. After September 30, team donations are non-transferable as the fundraising component of this program has closed.

How should my team come up with a team name?

Be creative! Participants and teams join the CIBC Run for the Cure for many reasons; you may be participating in honour of someone, with your friends and family, with your school or with your colleagues. Some teams like to use their team name as a tribute to those who have experienced breast cancer, others like to combine the pink theme into their name. As a reminder, if your team qualifies for team t-shirts, team names will need to be under 24 characters in order to be printed on the back of the team t-shirts.

I saw that another team has the name that my team was going to select; can we still use this name?

Yes! Team names can be duplicated. However, to avoid having friends and family accidentally join the wrong team, we suggest making your team name as unique as possible.

Is my team allowed to use a trademarked name?

Unfortunately, no. We encourage participants and teams to be creative with their decision on their team name, however, trademarked language is not allowed to be used for team names (Example: Pink Warriors). If your team accidentally registers under a trademarked name, Canadian Cancer Society staff will contact you and allow you to come up with a new team name. Exceptions are made for team names that include the name of your organization, provided that your organization has given permission for their name to be used.

What do I do if my team name has more characters than the limit for printing?

We can include a maximum of 24 characters on 2 lines (12 per line including spaces). We are unable to increase this limit so please try to keep your team name to 24 characters or less.

Please note that a team qualifies to have their team name printed on the back of their t-shirt if they have a minimum of 10 team members who have either raised $150 on average per person or have paid the minimum self-donation by Thursday, September 13, 2018.
