2021 Baltimore AIDS Walk & Music Festival

3 Balance Sheets to the Wind

TAKE THE PLEDGE TO STOP NEW HIV INFECTIONS: EXPAND TESTING, TREATMENT, & PREVENTION.

The Virtual Baltimore AIDS Walk & Music Fest is challenging our community to unite and take every virtual step during this pandemic to stop the HIV epidemic. We declare that 40 years of HIV is decades too long. In memory of the many we’ve lost to HIV and in honor of our long-term thrivers who live with HIV, we pledge to raise money to expand HIV testing, prevention, education, and treatment and do all we can to prevent new HIV infections.

As we fight the COVID pandemic, we continue to work to end the HIV epidemic.
Every generation has the power to stop HIV. We can make this happen together.

In partnership with local community organizations, we anticipate 500 participants with the goal of raising $165,000 to support local Community Partners with HIV and AIDS programming. Proceeds raised by Chase Brexton Health Care will support the delivery of HIV medication to our patients’ doorstep.

WAYS TO HELP EVERYDAY...

  TALK ABOUT HIV:

HIV is a virus. HIV is not curable at the moment, but it is preventable and treatable.

HIV is NOT a status: it is a virus that causes illness.

HIV can infect any person. There’s no ‘type’ of person or place for shame when we talk about an illness.

U=U: With continued treatment and suppressed viral loads, HIV is NOT transmittable through sex.

GET TESTED & TALK ABOUT IT:

Reduce the stigma and fear by sharing your own story

Support others to take care of themselves, and their loved ones, by getting tested

Remind friends and family: knowing if you have HIV is one of the best ways to end HIV.
