02/14/2017  I am in Barrington and Comed has recently installed Smart Meters. Interestingly, most residents of the area are experiencing significantly higher electric bills than in previous years and we are assuming that this has something to do with the new Meters - and that this could be an intended consequence of the new installations that have gotten past the regulator. A group of us are interested in sponsoring a public meeting in Barrington to learn independently about smart meters and why our bills are rising significantly when we've been led to believe that the SMART part should help us save money and should not be costing us more. Can you supply a knowledgeable speaker?
02/20/2017  We are looking for a speaker to present during our Lunching @ The Library series on Thursday, April 27th from Noon to 1:00 pm. 12/20/2017  Good afternoon, I hope that this email finds you well. Hello! My name is Rachna Shah, and I am an undergraduate student at Dartmouth College from the greater Chicago area. I am applying for the Davis Projects for Peace grant, which supports and encourages today's youth to create and test their own ideas for building peace. My model for peace focuses on establishing inter-political dialogue between youth of different political affiliations. In today's hyper-charged political environment, both violence and disengagement from the political system are evident. This breakdown of bipartisan norms is largely due to differences in values and worldviews between individuals of different political affiliations. My sample population is high school youth in urban and suburban settings, as classrooms are often some of the most polarized settings. The methodology of this program is a 5 day module entitled Opening the Mind that can be repeated in different settings with different groups. The first day focuses on identity and morality, helping students understand how and why liberals and conservatives have different political commitments and values--and how those commitments and values evolved--is essential for understanding our partisan divides. The second day focuses on community and culture, where students will discuss the most important characteristics of a healthy community and the issues that must be addressed to improve the quality of life in their respective communities. The third module focuses on the influence of media on political identity. The fourth and fifth days will consist of externships with local nonprofits on key issues, such as Education, Economy, and Infrastructure. I would truly appreciate your suggestions and ideas for this project, and I am also wondering if you would be interested in participating in this collaborative endeavor to build peace by speaking on a panel or being an externship partner? Thank you very much for your time and consideration, Sincerely, Rachna Shah

01/28/2018  Hi There,  My name is Cindy, and I am writing because at this moment, I am working on a number of PR projects in the same area as   It would be absolutely wonderful if we could discuss ways in which we can work together to produce content for, whether it is contributed content or advertising placements. I represent a range of review and information businesses within our sector.  Yes, this does include a limited budget should certain terms be met. Additionally, I want to assure you that I always write well researched, original content tailored to what you and your readers like to see. Furthermore, I have a track record of attracting fresh visitors to the sites I work with.  For my part, I require a single, followed link to one of the websites I'm working for. We prefer for it not to be tagged as such, however. I would also like for my content to be easily found by casual browsers and where possible, linked to from any main category page.  My work is always of the highest quality and I am more than open to ideas and topic suggestions. If you like the sound of this, please send over your pricing structure, and other details so we can proceed. I look forward to hearing back from you.  Best Regards, Cindy  PS - If you're not interested, I totally understand. You're not on a contact list and I won't get in touch again.

My name is Greg Duncan, EHS & Sustainability Content Manager at VelocityEHS ( VelocityEHS is an environmental health and safety management software firm based at the Merchandise Mart here in Chicago. We're open to suggestions on presentation topics, but would like to maintain a focus on sustainability and the environment. If you would be willing to join us on Friday April 26, 2019 at 1:00 pm CT, we would be very happy to have you. Thank you so much for your consideration, and I hope to hear from you soon! 04/25/2019  Hello, We are hoping that we can have a representative professional from the CUB to come in and give us suggestions about savings we can make around our office. We are a financial firm in the Loop and are looking to lower our energy usage/carbon footprint but do not quite have the knowledge as to how. We are currently looking into transitioning to LED light bulbs instead of incandescent, but that is as far as we've gotten. Would it be possible for a representative to come out and education us on ways to improve? Many thanks! Emily Colfer Office Manager THL Credit

10/04/2019  In honor of Campus Sustainability Month, Northwestern University is hosting the Living Sustainably: Off-campus Resource Fair on October 16th from 12-3 pm. At this fair, students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to connect with organizations who promote sustainable living focusing on water, energy, food, waste, community and transportation. We would love to invite you to host a resource table at this event! We think that Citizens Utility Board is a wonderful resource for our students, faculty and staff. This fair is an opportunity to educate and connect your programs with hundreds of students, as Northwestern's fairs tend to attract over 200-500 individuals over the course of a few hours. Our student population has 15,200 students who live off-campus and would benefit from learning more about how to be energy efficient. Additionally, sustainability themed fairs attract interest from our faculty and staff (roughly 25% of the typical fair audience). Off-campus resource booths will have a standard table and two folding chairs provided. Successful booths typically include opportunities to sign up for services, information cards and an interactive activity around your topic. Parking passes can be provided, please let us know if you will need one. Booth set up starts at 11:30 am and tear down is from 3:00 3:30 pm. The event will take place at the Norris University Center inside in the Wildcat room. In addition to partner resource booths, there will be sustainability activities, a raffle and other giveaways. Please let us know if you would like to support this event through an in-kind donation. Please let us know ASAP if you will be able to be there by replying to this email. If you have questions about the event or participation logistics, please do not hesitate to reach out. We hope you can participate! Best regards, Sarah
10/17/2019  Hello, I am the grassroots organizer for PERRO's IL Solar for All education campaign. I would like to have CUB present at our next community meeting at the Lozano Library Branch in Pilsen about general utility issues. At the Elevate ILSFA training I believe it was Yamila (?) who presented from CUB, and she was awesome. I have had trouble getting residents to show up at meetings for ILSFA education, because I think it's not a clearly defined in the public imagination. I think CUB would be a great entity to come and speak because of their reputation and expertise. Ideally, our speaker would be bilingual. Thanks!
10/21/2019  Hi there! My name is Zoe and I am the President of the Environmental Law Society at Northwestern Law. We realize that the IL legislature will be discussing the Clean Energy Jobs Act next Tuesday at the veto session, and I was wondering if anyone from your organization would be willing to come to campus (located on E. Chicago Ave. and Lake Shore Dr.) for a discussion during lunchtime about the contents of the bill, how it compares to nationally proposed policies like the Green New Deal, what the impact would be on IL, etc. Of course, we understand that this is a last-minute request, but wanted to reach out just in case! Thank you.
10/27/2019  We are starting a sustainability lecture series at our school, if someone can come in and speak to us about clean energy in our homes and at school, that would be fantastic.
11/07/2019  Was hoping we could set a date/time in the upcoming year. Looking for best option to schedule this. Thank you!!
