Thank you for supporting Ohio food banks in the State Budget

As a supporter of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, I want to thank you for the increase in funding for the Ohio Food and Agricultural Clearance Programs in the 2020-2021 state budget.

The support of these state-funded food programs not only nourishes Ohioans in need, but also has a multiplier effect on Ohio's agricultural economy. Last year, these two programs provided more than 55 million meals, created 316 jobs and invested $9 million into the Ohio economy. These programs also supported Ohio farmers and producers by funding the purchase of highly nutritious surplus eggs and protein items, staple foods, and fresh fruits and vegetables.
