Thank you for supporting us in the WALK 4 CMT event!
In meeting my husband, you may have wanted to ask him a question about his deep voice, whether he was sick, or simply yelled too loudly at the Seahawks game on Sunday.
Kindly, you offered him some water, tea with honey and were genuinely concerned. YOU are everyone that he has ever talked with from family & friends, business colleagues, clients, or a friendly voice behind the counter.
The WALK 4 CMT is very purposeful to help provide resources for a cure for CMT - conditions that affect limb weakness, breathing muscle weakness and vocal cord paralysis. He may not walk as fast as he used to, but this walk is personal to our family and symbolic to this fight.
We are contributing to a study at Johns Hopkins for neuromuscular research, which may help slow or stop the progression of CMT2C in the future. This research may lead to clinical trials and have far wider implications for many others that are experiencing neuromuscular diseases. CMTA is providing resources and funding to advance other treatments for various types of CMT, some of which can also affect small children with severe disabilities.
STAR research for a cure means regaining feeling in the extremities, walking without tripping, picking up a golf club, or simply keeping balance while standing.
STAR is synonymous with stopping progression and living a life without limitations and the hope for a future without CMT.
YOU can make a difference in the lives of those living with CMT and future generations to come.
Together, with your support, we can reach our fundraising goal or if you would like to join our team, Team Golden Paws for The Cause.
Thank you!
