Team FitzGerald
Our 5th Annual Philadelphia Walk & Cycle4CMT will begin at 11 AM on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Ridley Creek State Park in Media, PA!
This event is going to be EPIC! Walk or ride along the paved trails in this beautiful park, then (Shhh, it's a surprise!) join us in honoring the contributions of Steven Scherer, M.D., Ph.D., Emeritus Professor of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Neurologist with Penn Medicine, as he retires from a distinguished career dedicated to helping CMT patients and conducting groundbreaking research on Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease. Dr. Scherer is a hero to me and many others for his leadership in advancing our cause!
The CMTA is a 501c3 non-profit working with world-class partners to advance treatment-oriented research through STAR (Strategy to Accelerate Research). To people with CMT, STAR research for a cure means regaining feeling in the extremities, walking without tripping, and effortlessly traversing a sandy beach to dip our toes the ocean. Recent advances and current clinical trials now offer realistic hope for stopping the progression of CMT and for future generations to live a life free of physical limitations. I continue to actively participate in clinical research studies at the CMT Center of Excellence at University of Pennsylvania, and while progress is being made, your help is still very much needed.
STAR means there is hope for a future without CMT. Together, with your support, we can reach our fundraising goal!
Thank you in advance for your support and generosity.
