Welcome to My Personal Page
Once again in support of Craig Hospital, I am riding in the "Jackie Greene Fan Club" team captained by Allyen Wilson. Allyen, one of my sons-in-law and a metallurgist, was a patient at Craig. He has made a remarkable recovery.
In 2017 Avery (Allyen's daughter) and I rode in the 10K ride. I missed the 2018 ride because I was fly fishing (bad scheduling on my part). In 2019, I had a great time riding the 30k route. During Covid times in 2020, Robin (my wife) and I did the “virtual” rides in support of the Craig Hospital fund raising. The rides were not conducted on one day from the Pearl Izumi headquarters like previous rides. Instead the “virtual” rides that Robin and I completed were done over a week’s time using the honor system. We submitted our ride reports to Craig; Robin rode about 45 miles and I rode about 70. We thank all who supported us in our 2020 rides. We did well for Craig Hospital.
This year the plan is that we will all convene once again at Pearl Izumi on Saturday, September 18 for our rides and party. We have fingers crossed that Covid doesn’t upset that schedule. Robin and I will both ride the 30k on our new TerraTrike recumbents. We have been conditioning for the ride. Over the past 4-6 weeks, we have tallied over 100 miles, including rides to Copper Mountain and Breckenridge plus local routes. Most recently, on Thursday we completed a ride around the perimeter of Chatfield State Park.
So, we will be ready for the September ride. Of course, our goal is to raise as much as possible to support the amazing work done by Craig Rehabilitation Hospital.
