Welcome to My Personal Page
Hello my generous friends, family, and strangers. I’m very excited to be able to participate in Pedal4Possible this year! I’ve already begun training for the half-marathon I’m pledging to push on September 26th. There is no other organization I’d rather be raising money for than Craig Hospital. My time at Craig began on September 16th, 2016. Though that was hardly the beginning of my journey.
On June 9th, 2016, I dove into a pool and hit my head against the bottom, leaving my entire body immediately paralyzed. Luckily, I was pulled out of the water and flown by helicopter to have emergency surgery to stabilize my neck. I had sustained a C5 complete spinal cord injury, leaving me paralyzed from the chest down. With the amount of trauma I had sustained, the surgeon told my mom I was lucky to be alive. After two weeks on a ventilator and three months of recovery and rehab, I was on my way to Craig.
I came to Craig broken and unsure of what my future held. After three months of inpatient therapy and four months of outpatient therapy, I left healed; confident in my ability to lead a life of independence and fulfillment. The ICU saved my life, Craig gave me my life back. Craig is honestly one of my favorite places in the world. It has top of the line equipment and technology, and even better people. I never would’ve thought I would have nostalgia when thinking of a hospital, but I will forever hold a sense of gratitude for Craig.
Please help me support the people that supported me during my toughest times. Donate and spread awareness as I prepare to push 13.109 miles. Try to donate per mile that I push. Whether that be $1 per mile for a total of $13, $2 per mile for $26 and so on. Or any general donation works as well. Please, help me reach my goal! Hope everyone is well!
Craig Hospital Foundation (tax ID #23-7352287) is a 501(c)(3), meaning all donations are tax deductible.
