Spring Aeration Fundraiser for Craig!
Hello! As you may know, I had a severe downhill mountain biking accident in Whistler, British Columbia in 2018. I was in a coma for six days due to a rare condition called Fat Emboli Syndrome. My brain had been affected from bone marrow fat clotting in my lungs and brain, restricting blood flow to my most important functions. I was in Vancouver for 3 weeks waiting for my lower extremity fractures to become stable enough to travel.
After returning to Colorado, I was admitted into Craig Hospital (where I believe my self-identity transformed into the man I am today). I spent four weeks in-patient at Craig, rehabbing my basic cognitive and physical functions. During my short time living in Craig, my outlook on life completely changed. I saw patients- who were worse off than me- with optimistic spirits and positive thoughts. I worked with staff members that pushed me to see the small, but powerful effects of a mindset of gratitude. I am so grateful for Craig Hospital and the work that they do, I believe that it is my job to spread the word and give back to the community that helped me prosper. I love Craig and who it shaped me to become.
Thank you for joining me in our effort to help Craig Hospital (a non-profit organiztion) help other traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury patients return to their best life!
