Welcome to My Personal Page
I don’t think I’ve ever done a charity anything before. But I can’t think of a better first cause than Craig Hospital. Those that know me know my wife Angela suffered a stroke on June 8 this year at only 41 years old. After a few weeks in the ICU at Littleton Hospital she’s now in inpatient rehab at Craig Hospital.
Her progress is steady and good- worlds better than when she got here just a few weeks ago, but the road ahead is long. She’ll get there, we’re confident in her, but it will take a lot of hard work. To say the staff and rehab programs at Craig are amazing is an understatement. I knew of Craig before Angela came here from when Montgomery County (Maryland) Police Officer Kyle Olinger got shot in August, 2003. I was on shift 7 with him that night- my 10th night out of the police academy- and was on scene shortly after he'd been shot. Weeks later I was with everyone else wishing him well as he boarded the plane at Dulles airport to come to Craig. I had no idea then the turns my life would take to make me end up a caregiver to a patient there.
Anyone who knows Angela knows she doesn’t know how to quit- stubborn should be her middle name. Anytime she has a good achievement in therapy, reaches a goal, does some thing great, she smiles at me and says “can’t stop, won’t stop.” It always makes me get all sappy and she laughs at me for getting weepy.
Please, for all the amazing people who come through Craig and have their lives turned around, to have a chance at independence again, please consider giving just a few dollars to their cause. Now that I’ve seen first hand, day in day out, what goes on I there, I can’t think of a better place to give a few bucks to.
