Casanova Rugby Club Craig Hospital Fundraiser
During a national championship game in 2017, our brother and former Cal Rugby Varsity Athlete, Robert Paylor, was paralyzed in the field of play. Although his spinal injury was grave and his initial prognosis was permanent paralysis below the chest, he has beat the odds and now enjoys greater mobility than any medical professional could have expected! Thanks to his resilience and determination, along with the help of Craig Hospital, Rob is now making strides towards living his life entirely independent of a wheelchair. Rob is a testament to the human will and a personal hero to every Casanova. That's why we have decided to raise money for the amazing institution that has aided Rob's and thousands of other peoples' rehabilitation. Craig Hospital in Denver, Colorado, is a world-renowned rehabilitation hospital that exclusively specializes in the neurorehabilitation and research of patients with spinal chord and brain injuries. The platform Craig provides has helped Rob achieve his goal of walking across the stage to receive his UC Berkeley diploma. He now inspires others as a professional speaker by sharing his journey. By recommendation of Rob, the focus of this fundraiser is the Therapeutic Recreation division of Craig which engages patients in recreational activities that are both psychologically and physically healing.
