Together with you, World Renew is changing the story of poverty around the world.
You also provide essential assistance to people affected by disasters at home and abroad.
In Nicaragua, many small-scale farmers work diligently to grow crops by using traditional methods of farming, but the harvests are often inadequate to feed farm families.
To support them, World Renew and a Nicaraguan partner have established farmer field schools to teach farmers conservation agriculture methods. Your gift supports a group of farmers, giving them the opportunity to experiment with new ways of growing crops that can lead to increased harvests and more resilience when climate interferes with cropping cycles.
Reynaldo Blanco is a farmer who is benefitting from a World Renew farmer field school. He says, “When I started farming on my own, I used fertilizers and pesticides. I couldn’t afford to buy both at the same time, though, so I still couldn’t get a great harvest. In field-school training sessions, Reynaldo learned new farming methods, including the use of cover crops. With the guidance of World Renew and partner staff, Reynaldo was able to develop better bean and corn varieties through experimentation. He makes them available to his neighbors.
Reynaldo says, “I’m grateful to God that now my family has enough food year ‘round.”
Thank you for your gift of a farmer field school starter kit to farmers like Reynaldo! Your kind gift mirrors the generosity of Jesus, the Light of the World, who sacrificed Himself so that all people and creation can be made new in Him.
