Parks Are for All Californians

Dear Governor Brown,

Our state parks protect California's natural splendor, preserve historic treasures and cultural heritage, and provide recreational opportunities to enjoy while offering countless health and wellness benefits to children and adults alike in this great state.

Governor Brown, thank you for your past leadership in securing funding for California's state parks. The funding helped address some of the over $1 billion of deferred maintenance.

Unfortunately, with an aging state park infrastructure, our parks continue to need critical repairs that will keep them available and well maintained. It has been 15 years since California voters approved the last legislatively crafted park bond Proposition 40.

Now more than ever, investing in California's state park system should be a priority.

As a proud supporter of the California State Parks Foundation, I strongly urge you to support measures to increase funding and support for California's state parks. This includes legislation that would allow California voters to support a new park bond providing funds for the improvement and preservation of state, regional and local parks, and ways to connect more Californians to the wonders around us.

With your support, our parks will benefit from critical repairs and improvements so that all Californians will be able to enjoy the unique treasures our state parks have to offer.
