Team Damascus

Join us - and others around the country - as we attempt to break the world record for the largest virtual game of catch!

The Potter Baseball Tour is partnering with organizations and individuals all over the country for this once in a lifetime event. Along with having an incredibly memorable time with members of your community, you will be supporting CureSearch for Children's Cancer, a non-profit organization changing the drug development landscape from within and accelerating the development of safe, effective treatments for the 47 children diagnosed with cancer each day.

When: June 30, 2022, 6:00 - 8:00 PM ET (world-record catch from 7:00 to 7:10 PM ET)

Where: Field 3 at Damascus Regional Park, 23723 Kings Valley Rd, Damascus, MD 20872

What: At exactly 7:00 P.M. EST we all will take a baseball/softball and throw it to a partner ten feet away. We will do this for 10 minutes to make our efforts official. When we are done, we hopefully will have set a Virtual World Record as hundreds of other locations across the country join the fun.

When we are not playing catch, we will have fun baseball/softball-related activities for all participants to enjoy.

We will also use this opportunity to give back to our community. We ask that those participants that have cleats, mitts or helmets lying around their garages (we have far too many) donate them for an on-site sport swap. Those that are looking for gear can pick up what they need and the rest will be donated.

Who: Anyone that is interested.

Cost: We are asking for a donation of $10.00 for anyone 13 and over, and $5.00 for participants 12-under. The event benefits CureSearch for Children's Cancer and the money our team raises supports their mission to fund and support targeted and innovative children's cancer research!
