Welcome to The Clementines!
November 6, 2015, a day I will never forget. On that day I was diagnosed with a 3.5 x 5 cm Grade I Ganglioglioma brain tumor. Though that day changed my life dramatically I promised myself to make that a good thing. Over the next few weeks my neighbors, friends, and family were beyond amazing. From the cookies to the cards, to all the meals, and to the simple “How ya feeling?” texts I learned that the most important thing in life is the people in it. The support I received from the community around me truly left me speechless and for that, I thank you all.
I would like to thank Dr. Allan Friedman and Dr. Fuchs for their true dedication and care. From the very beginning, they were invested in the best possible outcome for me and am so very thankful for what they did. I would also like to thank all of the other amazing doctors and nurses that cared for me during such a crazy time. Duke truly does care.
Last but certainly not least I want to thank God for guiding me on this wild journey, I truly believe that God gave me this challenge for a reason and look forward to seeing what He has in store for me in the future.
I now ask you to join me on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the 25th Annual Angels Among Us 5k and help me raise money to beat this horrible disease. Every penny counts!
