I wanted to let you know I’m actually in pretty good shape this year because I am going skiing in early March for only the second time since high school! If I survive Utah, I should be able to run almost the entire 5K of the Angels Among Us race on April 25 for the Duke Brain Tumor Center. I wanted to reach out in case you’re interested in supporting me again this year.
As you know, Angels Among Us is a celebration of life, strength, courage and commitment. Your gift will be used for brain tumor research and education, and may be endowed to provide ongoing support of the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center. Over 4,000 participants come together to celebrate HOPE in the fight against brain cancer.
It has been 14 years since I was treated at Duke and I’m grateful every day for the skill and caring of everyone there. Via both Duke and various cancer support organizations, I am honored to be able to share my experience with survivors who are just entering their own journeys with brain cancer. I hope you’ll support my running of the 5K to demonstrate to everyone attending the event that THERE IS HOPE!
