Kathy's Gliosarcoma Angels
Our lives were forever changed on October 20, 2019 when my mom was suddenly diagnosed with a 7.5 cm brain tumor. After surgery to remove the tumor, she was diagnosed with Gliosarcoma. Gliosarcoma is an extremely rare and very aggressive form of brain cancer that approximately only 215 people in the United States are diagnosed with each year. Gliosarcoma has taken away her independence, partial vision loss, her ability to drive, short term memory and so much more. However, it has not taken away her smile, postive attitude and her will to fight this diagnosis.
Our family and friends will be participating in the "Angels Among Us" 5K Run and Walk of Hope for Survivors on April 25, 2020 at Duke. Please register to join our team (Kathy's Gliosarcoma Angels) or if you cannot participate, you can donate to our team where the proceeds will go directly to brain tumor research at Duke where my mom is a patient. Thank you for your continued support and prayers throughout this difficult journey.
