Meet Clay: He is a funloving, energetic, six year old who loves Dinosaurs. In September of 2017, we discovered he had a brain tumor. He had a brain resection which removed most of the tumor. He was diagonosed with Grade 3 Ependymoma and had to undergo Proton Radiation therapy in Florida. Clay had several clear scans until August of 2018. We then discovered a new tumor in his spine. They were not able to remove this tumor. Clay went through radiation at Duke through September. Clay has been in and out of pain over the last year going through more radiation and Chemotherapy. He now has several tumors in his spine and some tumor has come back in his brain. Clay continues to be brave through all treatments and just lives each day to the fullest.I have done this walk many times in rememberance of my grandfather (Buddy Yearby) who also had brain cancer. We would love it if you would join our family and Clay to Walk or Run in this Angels Among Us Walk. Money raised will go towards brain tumor research at Duke. We will be wearing our Clay's Crew or Wear Gray for Clay shirts. If you don't have one--just wear Gray!
