What is Pink Ribbon Yoga
Pink Ribbon Yoga is a group of women breast cancer survivors who are striving for optimal health. Within yoga, we find support, camaraderie, healing, joy, and peace. We come in all shapes and sizes, and all ages. Some are more newly diagnosed and others have been thriving for decades. Some of us are very active in yoga, and others are beginners. Many are local to North Carolina, but we've had women join us from all over the United States. Throughout our 15 year history.
2019 Pink Ribbon Yoga Retreat
The Pink Ribbon Yoga Retreat will be held in Boone North Carolina at the Art of Living Retreat Center August 8-11. During the four-day retreat, a gifted group of teachers will lead attendees through a gentle yoga program that includes pranayamas, restorative poses, traditional hatha classes, and meditation. In addition to the yoga instruction, therapists of different modalities will be on site to offer massage, expressive arts, and individual counseling.
Retreat Founder, Jean Costa, remarked "It was wonderful to see the unfolding of each person present, like petals on the Spring flowers, as we gradually revealed parts of our health journey with each other. It was very supportive to connect with others who are on a similar path."
Why we need your support
Cancer brings financial burdens that pull focus away from physical and emotional health. The cost of the retreat per person $930.00, however participants are only charged $350.00 to make it a feasible option to attend. Even a reduced rate of $350.00 is often still a barrier, so a scholarship program has been created to make attending this retreat an option for everyone.
This year marks the 15th annual retreat. We need your help to keep this life changing opportunity going. Please consider making a gift TODAY.
