Welcome to My Personal Page
Thank you for visiting my Hearts in Action fundraising page and supporting the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD)!
This year for my birthday I’m asking for donations to Children’s hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD). CHaD was our home for 105 days in 2018, and we have continued our visits for the last 2 years. The complex care team has become part of our family. They have listened to and supported us on our journey with Isaac, in ways that directly impact his quality of life and our life as a family. They have visited our home and held trainings for the local emergency responders so they are familiar with Isaac and his complex, fragile needs. They visited the local hospitals to be sure the staff is aware of Isaac and what he might need during an emergency visit. They have coordinated all of Isaac’s medical appointments so that we only have to visit the hospital every six weeks, we go to one room, and the doctors visit us while Isaac receives his IVIG infusion. They have listened to me as I cry because my children are asking about Isaac dying and I don’t know how to answer the questions; then they put together a pile of books and other resources to guide us on this journey. When Isaac started talking his sickness and expressing frustrations about the life he faces, they helped us put together a document for Isaac’s wishes. I could on and on about how this program is intricately woven into our journey with Isaac.
Our lives are directly impacted by the people and services of the Complex Care team at CHaD. Isaac’s well being and quality of life is directly tied to these people and program. But the complex care team is funded through philanthropy. So without the help of people that care, this program wouldn’t exist. I’m asking for your help to donate and share to raise funds to keep this program doing the work that they do. Because of Covid-19, all the in person fundraising has been canceled and moved to a virtual platform. This has resulted in lower funds coming in. We need your help. From my heart to yours, thank you.
